What is physiotherapy?

Physiotherapy is a regulated healthcare profession focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal pain, injury, and movement dysfunction. Treatment may include manual therapy, individualized rehabilitation exercises, education, and advanced techniques to restore optimal function.

General Physiotherapy Services

Physiotherapy is a regulated healthcare profession focused on diagnosing, treating, and preventing musculoskeletal pain, injury, and movement dysfunction. Treatment may include manual therapy, individualised rehabilitation exercises, education, and advanced techniques to restore optimal function.

A GP referral is not usually required for private physiotherapy appointments. However, some private medical insurers may request a referral prior to authorising treatment.

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive clinical assessment, diagnosis, discussion of your goals, and a personalised treatment plan tailored to your condition and lifestyle.

Musculoskeletal (MSK) Physiotherapy

We treat back pain, neck pain, shoulder injuries, knee pain, arthritis, tendon injuries, sports-related injuries, and post-operative rehabilitation.

Recovery time depends on the nature and duration of your condition. Acute injuries may resolve within a few weeks, while persistent or chronic conditions may require a structured rehabilitation programme.

Vestibular Physiotherapy (Dizziness & Vertigo Treatment)

Vestibular physiotherapy is a specialist service designed to assess and treat dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders related to the inner ear.

We commonly treat Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV), vestibular neuritis, persistent dizziness, and balance dysfunction.

Neurological Physiotherapy

Individuals living with stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, spinal cord injury, or other neurological conditions may benefit from specialist neurological rehabilitation.

Our goals include improving mobility, strength, balance, coordination, independence, and overall quality of life.

Sports Physiotherapy

No. Sports physiotherapy is suitable for individuals of all activity levels experiencing exercise-related injuries or wishing to improve performance and reduce injury risk.

Women’s Health & Pelvic Health Physiotherapy

We treat pelvic pain, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pregnancy-related back pain, and postnatal recovery concerns.

Internal pelvic floor examinations may be recommended for accurate assessment. These are always conducted with informed consent and patient comfort as a priority.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment using acoustic waves to stimulate healing in chronic tendon and soft tissue conditions such as plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, tennis elbow, and calcific shoulder pain.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture may be used alongside physiotherapy to reduce pain, relieve muscle tension, and promote tissue healing using sterile, single-use needles.
